Accounting Associate Position Open in our Encinitas, California office

Description

Halverson & Company, Certified Public Accountants, a growing firm with offices in San Diego, CA and Lehi, UT, is looking to hire a full-time Accounting Associate who has long term growth potential, to join our team and help in the firm's accounting services department. Salary Range: Based on experience

 

Responsibilities

 

  • Perform full cycle accounts payable

  • Post daily sales and cash receipts

  • Process payroll using various cloud-based platforms

  • Post standard payroll and adjusting journal entries

  • Maintain fixed asset records

  • Reconcile bank and credit card statements

  • Prepare and post month-end journal entries

  • Analyze all balance sheet and income statement accounts

  • Monthly financial statement preparation

  • Prepare and file sales and use tax returns

  • Prepare quarterly and year-end payroll tax returns and Forms 1099

  • Prepare business personal property tax statements 

Qualifications

 

  • BA/BS degree in Accounting from an accredited college/university

  • Fantastic communication and interpersonal skills

  • Strong work ethic and time management skills

  • Detail-oriented, highly organized and able to prioritize

  • Excellent client interaction skills

  • Assertive and proactive

  • Well-developed ability to work in a team setting

  • Strong computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Quickbooks accounting software
